share teaching strategies, data-driven decision-making, new ideas in
best teaching practices and available resources to promote
collegiality. |

To communicate accurate and timely information on education issues
to high school administrators and staff using electronic and print

To provide information and recommendations to the State Board of
Education on issues impacting high school education.

To work with the leadership and staff in the Division of School
Improvement and other sections within the NC Department of Public
Instruction to support and enhance secondary education.

To provide opportunities to advocate for and offer input on
current issues, policies and legislation impacting secondary

To provide opportunities for professional development and advanced
studies based on the needs of high school educators.

To ensure that every high school student receives maximum benefit
from time spent in high school and that achievement gaps are closed.

To ensure adequate mentoring for pre-service and in-service
